Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on 16 March 1984, at Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's best-known and popular comedians. The comedian has appeared seen on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea, is an Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea first began her career with stand-up comedy in the year 2011, following small parts that she acted in Irish and British television dramas starting in 2009. Bea began performing often on sketch comedy and sitcoms later in the year. In 2012, she began appearing in panel shows following the win of an award at The Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team from 2016-2017 and is an ongoing contestant on its spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was born to Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. In 2012, she was the second female to receive the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who took his own life at the age of three when Bea turned three was a suicide victim. The news of his death only at thirteen years of age. The stage name she chose was Bea in honor of her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea and her sister Sinead was raised by Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) who was a jockey as well as a teacher at a secondary school. Her family were fascinated by racing meetings and horses. Bea started her journey as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea realized at an early age that racing was not for her.
